Volunteer Visual Designer

May Chan

May Chan (she/her) is a designer, teacher, and advocate from Brooklyn, New York. After teaching in France, she returned home to embrace her passion for the arts and now has eight years of professional experience in print/digital design. Throughout her career, May has contributed to brand development and advertising campaigns from both the agency side and as part of the in-house design team. May is also a board member/teacher for an educational multicultural nonprofit, and has previously assisted with youth art workshops for the homeless community, and costume design for at-risk teens finding their voice through theater. Her most recent project is collaborating with a mental health professional on a publication aimed at lifting the stigma of therapy in Asian communities.

Aside from being fueled by the fight for social and racial justice, LGBTQIA equality, and immigration rights, she enjoys learning languages and getting RBIs for her softball team. The philosophy of Art With Impact has been a lifelong passion for May; she is thrilled to use her expertise in visual storytelling at the intersection of mental wellness and art.
