Dr. Rob Whitley

Rob Whitley is the Principal Investigator of the Social Psychiatry Research and Interest Group (SPRING) at the Douglas Hospital Research Center. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University. His three main research interests are recovery, stigma and men’s mental health. He has published over 100 papers in social psychiatry, and his work has been funded by various governmental organizations. He is the founding director of Recovery Action Documentary Action Research (RADAR Mental Health): a collective of academics and film-makers creating short, anti-stigma and pro-recovery videos on topics surrounding mental health and mental illness. So far we have created over 25 videos which can be seen at our website here.
