Veronique West

Our Bodies, Our Mind facilitator

Veronique West

Veronique’s (she/her) practice spans theatre creation, dramaturgy, and education, as well as mental health peer support and advocacy. Her work is informed by her lived experience of mental health issues and trauma. She believes that theatre can be a framework for dialogue that balances risk-taking and vulnerability with care and accountability. Her projects have taken many forms, including plays, immersive installations, dance-theatre hybrids, a song cycle, and an intercultural community conversation. She seeks to use anti-oppressive and trauma-informed approaches, while advancing mad and disability justice. She is a settler of Polish descent, based on unceded and occupied Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories.
