Yara DeSousa

Yara DeSousa (she/her) is a wife, mom, and mentor. She and her family live and work in Boston, MA. Yara’s family is from the Cape Verde Islands and they value culture, faith, serving, and family time. Yara works as a Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Curry College. She leads efforts around making sure the campus is inclusive of the many identities it serves. Yara also works as a Virtual Assistant providing her expertise to business owners around administrative and marketing tasks and systems that will help them remain productive and profitable. Yara is joining the AWI team as a Facilitator for Black Mental Health Matters and hopes to provide space for black & brown people to fully engage in experiences that allow them to feel confident in caring for themselves. Yara loves chocolate, singing, organizing her spaces (no, really!), and spending time with family.
